Live Your Legends Challenge 3

I signed up for the Live Your Legends activity. First, the challenge is to start a blog. Done that.

Then the challenge is to write in it every day. Whoops.

Today’s challenge is to write about what people thank me for.

When Terry and Christy were practicing for the Texas Water Safari, They were very thankful I was their team captain, and managed to rescue them a couple of times. Christy especially said several times she was very thankful to know I was keeping track of them and would be waiting to pick them up at the end. A couple of times, I realized they were not going to make it to their planned take out, and managed to intercept them at an intermediate spot and rescue them early.

Anna has mentioned several times that she gets reminded that growing up with me she learned lots of things that she takes for granted that other people are amazed at. Baking bread, constructing solutions to problems. Sewing.

Becca mentioned that folks were talking one day about things they wished they had done growing up, and she had done all of them with me. her friends got annoyed and said, ok, we get it, you had an amazing childhood, you don’t have to keep reminding us.

I volunteer at Planned Parenthood as an escort, and very often get thanked for that by the clients and other staff.
